You might have already heard around town, but the library is moving! The new home of the Mary Duncan Public Library will be 319 S. Elm Street (in between the Benson Fire Department and Parks & Rec). Cultural Arts Director Derrick Barefoot and his team are in the process now — moving furniture, shelving, computers, and thousands of books! This new location affords the library more space for activities, a safer location for outdoor Story Times and the Summer Reading program (no more train tracks nearby), and an updated building with more public amenities like better parking, new bathrooms, and even a conference room! The library crew is working hard to finish the Children’s section right now — that is expected to be open and ready for you to check out books next week (just in time for Spring Break)! The Adult section of the stacks will be ready by June. Look for an announcement when that section is complete! We’ll let Derrick tell you about everything! Check out this video tour!
